Think of the Quick Properties Editor dialog box as “Object Editor Lite.” Although it features many of the same controls as the Object Editor dialog box, the Quick Properties Editor dialog box offers a convenient way to change some common object properties.
Many of the editing operations you perform using the Quick Properties Editor are visible in “real time.” That is, the selected object will display the effects of the edit in the Work Window as you are editing, and you don’t need to click an OK button or close the dialog box to see them.
You can open the Quick Properties Editor dialog box in the following ways:
Click the Quick Properties Editor button on the Components Bar
Select ObjectQuick Properties
Press the ALT+Q
Press the ALT+ENTER keyboard shortcut.
Right-click an object and select Quick Properties.
With an object selected prior to performing these actions, the selected object’s properties will be ready for editing in the Quick Properties Editor dialog box. With no object selected prior to performing these actions, the Quick Properties Editor dialog box will open, and you may then select any object in the project to edit from the Object Selection drop-down menu on the Object Tab. Selecting an object in the Quick Properties Editor dialog box selects it in the Work Window also.
The Quick Properties Editor dialog box contains the following four tabs:
Object Tab
Outline Tab
Shading Tab
Link Tab
