You can publish your web site to your own computer or to a computer on your network. The two principal reasons you might choose this option are if you want to test the look and performance of the web site before publishing it to the Internet or if you are building an Intranet web site to run on your organization’s network. Another reason would be if you are your own webmaster and have your own dedicated web server.
Use the Publisher dialog box to establish the settings for your locally published web project. The two most important are setting the Files on Disk Export Destination option on the Profiles Tab and mapping a path to the target publish directory in the Local Publish Directory field on the Pages Tab. For more information, see Publisher Dialog Box.
If you are publishing your web site to an Intranet, consult your network or web administrator to determine the publish directory on the internal web server, and then map a path to it in the Local Publish Directory field on the Pages Tab of the Publisher dialog box.
Even if you are uploading your web site via FTP to a remote web host, SiteSpinner™ will automatically publish a copy to the location specified in the Local Publish Directory field on the Pages Tab of the Publisher dialog box.
