Align Bar

The Align Bar by default is located to the right of the Object Bar along the bottom edge of the Work Window. The Align Bar is used to group and resize objects and to help position them on the page.

Controls on the Align Bar include the following:

Control Description
Align Left Edge – Click to align the left edge of a selected object or objects with the nearest tab position to the left or with the left edge of the Work Window. For more information, see Alignment.
Horizontal Align Center – Click to align the center of a selected object or objects laterally with the tab position nearest the center of the page or with the center of the page. For more information, see Alignment.

 

Align Right Edge – Click to align the right edge of a selected object or objects with the nearest tab position to the right or with the right edge of the Work Window. For more information, see Alignment.
Align Top Edge – Click to align the top edge of a selected object or objects with the nearest tab position above or with the top edge of the Work Window. For more information, see Alignment.
Vertical Align Center – Click to align the center of a selected object or objects up or down with the tab position nearest the center of the page or with the center of the page. For more information, see Alignment.
Align Bottom Edge – Click to align the bottom edge of a selected object or objects with the nearest tab position below or with the bottom edge of the Work Window. For more information, see Alignment.
Relative Horizontal Positioning – With an object or objects selected, click to toggle on or off relative horizontal positioning. Relative Positioning buttons, when used, work with the alignment buttons (e.g., an object can be relative to the left, right or middle of the page). For more information, see Positioning.
Relative Vertical Positioning – With an object or objects selected, click to toggle on or off relative vertical positioning. For more information, see Positioning.
Relative Horizontal Sizing – With an object or objects selected, click to toggle on or off relative horizontal sizing. For more information, see Resizing.
Relative Vertical Sizing – With an object or objects selected, click to toggle on or off relative vertical sizing. For more information, see Resizing.
To Front – Click to layer a selected object in front of all other objects. For more information, see Z Order (Layers)
Forward – Click to move a selected object up one layer. For more information, see Z Order (Layers)
Back – Click to move a selected object down one layer. For more information, see Z Order (Layers)
To Back – Click to layer a selected object inferior to all other objects. For more information, see Z Order (Layers)
Group – With multiple objects selected as a temporary group, click to convert them into a permanent group object. For more information, see Group Objects.
Ungroup – With a permanent group object selected, click to break the permanent group object into individual objects. For more information, see Group Objects.
Space Evenly Horizontally – With a minimum of three objects selected, click to evenly space their centers horizontally, relative to the centers of the left- and rightmost objects. For more information, see Spacing.
Space Evenly Vertically – With a minimum of three objects selected, click to evenly space their centers vertically, relative to the centers of the top- and bottommost objects. For more information, see Spacing.
Make Same Width – With multiple objects selected, click to resize them to the same width in pixels as the first selected object. For more information, see Resizing.
Make Same Height – With multiple objects selected, click to resize them to the same height in pixels as the first selected object. For more information, see Resizing.
Make Same Height and Width – With multiple objects selected, click to resize them to the same height and width in pixels as the first selected object. For more information, see Resizing.
